Dragon Women Finish Second at Braxton Regatta

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Drexel women's crew finished second in the open four race at the Bill Braxton Regatta Sunday afternoon on the Schuylkill. The crew of sophomores Kanya Zillmer, Rose Morowitz, Eden Ginn, junior Elizabeth Adler and senior Kate McLaughlin, crossed the line in 4:52.07. The scull finished ahead of Sacred Heart and Binghamton. Stony Brook won the race in 5:36.35.
In the women's varsity eight race, the Dragons earned a third-place finish with a time of 4:53.64. Binghamton's crew edged Drexel at the line to take second place in 4:53.11 behind Temple, who won the race in 4:48.84. The women's varsity eight was led by seniors Sarah Grogan, Jill Allenbaugh and Ilalee Harrison with fellow seniors Catherine Scanlon and Shannon Venier, sophomores Shannon Haley, Vanessa Clifford, Chelsea Nowakowski and freshman Candice Webb helping the Dragons earn third place.
The Drexel crew returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 18 when they host the Drexel Crew Triathlon on the Schuylkill.
